Howell, NJ: Diocesan Media Office releases New Film on Pilgrimage of Kursk Root Icon to Russia

On Monday, September 10, the Media Office of the Eastern American Diocese released a film, entitled "Our Heavenly Mother has Returned," detailing the pilgrimage of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, to the Diocese of Kursk in September 2017. The film contains footage of the icon’s arrival by helicopter and the divine services in the Kursk Root Hermitage, the 32 km procession from the hermitage to the city center, and visitations to local hospitals.

The film is dedicated to the memory of Protodeacon Alexander Beletsky (featured in the film), who reposed on January 1, 2018. Fr. Alexander was a lifelong cleric of the Diocese of Kursk, and his final earthly service was the on feast of the Kursk Root Icon, December 10, 2017.
