On February 10, the Sunday of the Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan arrived in Norwich, CT to lead the divine services for the patronal feast day of the church of the same name. His Grace was co-served at All-Night Vigil the evening prior, and at the Divine Liturgy that morning, by parish clergy: rector Priest John Malcom, Protodeacon Nicholas Drobot, and Deacon Cyril Gregoire.
Before the start of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas ordained parish Reader Nicholas Tague a subdeacon.
The church was filled with believers, many of whom received Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas addressed the faithful with a sermon dedicated to the struggles of the New Martyrs. He also congratulated the clergy and parishioners on their patronal feast.
Interaction between those present continued during a reception organized by the parish sisterhood in the church hall.
