Dear in the Lord Parish Rectors, Directors & Teachers of Parish and Sunday Schools!
With our blessing and within the framework of the current program "School Piggy Bank," for the fourth year in a row, St. Prince Vladimir Youth Association, alongside with the Synodal Youth Department, is organizing financial assistance for children with special needs, who require care, social or medical services, and social development. This year help will be provided to "Samaritan Rehabilitation Center," an hospice orphanage in the city of Pinsk, Brest Oblast, Belarus.
Children with special needs for their psychophysical development, or simply special needs children, as they are often called, require love and support, both moral and material. The orphanage staffers help the children to take part in molebens and the Sacraments of Confession and Communion, speak to them about God, work with them in drawing, sculpting, engage with them developmental games, and take them on nature trips. Volunteers also engage in work with the children.
In May 2019, St. Prince Vladimir Youth Association is organizing a trip of ROCOR parish youth to visit Belarus, during with the young people will work as volunteers in this orphanage and relay the funds raised in our parishes.
We appeal to you to help support these poor orphans. The collected funds will be a true help and support for children who have been left without parental care. We hope this Great Lent your children will express their love God and their neighbor by helping these children in need.
Donations should be collected from March 7-April 27, 2019. Checks should be made out to:
