Rocky Hill, NJ: Bishop Nicholas leads Patronal Feast of St. Elizabeth the New-Martyr Church

On Thursday, July 18, the feast of the martyric repose of the Venerable Nun-Martyrs Elizabeth and Barbara, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan paid an archpastoral visit to St. Elizabeth the New-Martyr Church in Rocky Hill, NJ, and led its patronal feast day.

Concelebrating with His Grace were parish rector Archpriest David Straut, Priest George Kaplanov (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ), Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), and Deacons Michael Pavuk (cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA), Seraphim Komleski and Stephanos Bibas (parish clerics).

During the reading of the Hours, Bishop Nicholas tonsured Justin Neidig a reader, then later ordained him a subdeacon. At the Little Entrance, Fr. Seraphim was elevated to the rank of protodeacon for his devoted service to the church.

The service was held under the aegis of the Protectress of the Russian Diaspora – the wonderworking Kursk Root icon of the Mother of God.

Later in the church courtyard, a festal luncheon was held, where interaction between the clergy and parishioners continued.
