After the Augmented Litany, a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord for the Baptism of Russia was read.

Over the past years, a copy of the wonderworking Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God has been brought to the celebrations from Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY; faithful come from nearby states to pray before it.

A joint choir of parishioners and guests sang the divine service under the direction of Deacon Alexander Petrovsky (cleric of the Mid-American Diocese and son of longtime memorial church cleric, the ever-memorable Archpriest Philip Petrovsky).

A multitude of the faithful came to pray at Liturgy, arriving at the celebrations to pay homage to the Enlightener of Rus’ – the Holy Equal-of-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir.

Upon completion of Liturgy, the clergy and faithful honored tradition by processing around the Memorial Church, and then blessing the water.

Metropolitan Hilarion congratulated everyone with the feast and wished for them never to forget to turn to the Holy Prince Vladimir in their prayers.

The church sisterhood prepared a festal luncheon, to which the clergy, faithful, and celebration guests were all invited. The people enjoyed catching up with one another, and talked for a long time at the luncheon and outside.
