On Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th of August, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern American & New York paid an archpastoral visit to St. Panteleimon Church in Hartford, CT, where he led the parish’s patronal feast day.
Serving alongside His Eminence at the All-Night Vigil were Archpriests Dionisy Nalitov (parish rector), COnstanine Semyanko (rector of Holy Presentation Church in Stratford, CT), Protodeacon Serge Arliesvsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), and Deacons Alexey Pnev (cleric of Nativity of the Mother of God Church at the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY) and Eugene Utnyukhin (parish cleric).
The following morning, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad celebrated Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating with him were Bishop Jerome and the above-mentioned clergy, as well as Archpriest Dimitri Jakimowicz (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Stratford, PA), Priest George Temidis (rector of the New Kursk Root Hermitage), and Priest George Kaplanov (cleric of St. Alexander Nevsky Diocesan Cathedral in Howell, NJ).
Bishop Jerome delivered the sermon on the words from the Epistle reading: "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (II Timothy 2:3). His Grace underscored that it behooves us not only to seek the prayers of the Holy Great-Martyr Panteleimon and the other saints, but also to benefit from their example.
The Liturgy then concluded with a moleben and procession around the church, followed by the intoning of the Polychronion and a luncheon outside on the church lawn was organized for all.
