Blakeslee, PA: Bishop Nicholas celebrates Divine Liturgy in St. Seraphim Camp

On Sunday, August 11, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan paid an archpastoral visit to St. Seraphim Camp in Blakeslee, PA, where he led the divine services and spent time interacting with campers.

Under the open air, His Grace led the All-Night Vigil on the evening prior, and on Sunday morning, celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by Archpriests David Straut (rector of St. Elizabeth the New-Martyr Church in Rocky Hill, NJ), Alexis Duncan (rector of Nativity of the Mother of God Church in Albany, NY), and Brendan Crowley (rector of St. Nicholas Church in Enfield, CT); Priests Damian Dantinne (cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC) and Daniel Franzen (cleric of the Mid-American Diocese); Protodeacon Eugene Kallaur (cleric of St. Seraphim Memorial Church in Sea Cliff, NY); and Deacons Michael Pavuk (cleric of St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA) and Stephanos Bibas (cleric of St. Elizabeth Church).

Practically the entire camp confessed their sins the previous evening, and at Divine Liturgy received Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas delivered a sermon on the topic of the Sunday Gospel reading.

His Grace, the clergy and campers gathered for a final meal together before returning to their respective parishes.
