On Saturday, August 31, the feast of the Holy Martyrs Florus & Laurus, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Luke of Syracuse led a panihida for the fifth First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad in Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY.
Co-serving with hierarch were monastery and local clergy. Also commemorated on his saint’s day was longtime former monastery cleric Archimandrite Flor (Vanko; +2012), while Archimandrite Sergei (Romberg; +1992), Subdeacon Basil Anderson, and Rassaphore monk Andrew were commemorated on the anniversary of their repose, along with the newly-reposed Ludmilla Popow (mother-in-law of monastery cleric Protodeacon Victor Lochmatow).
