On Sunday the 13th and Monday the 14th of October, the major feast of the Protection of the Mother of God, Holy Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY celebrated its patronal feast day.
The parish celebrations began on Sunday evening with the serving of the All-Night Vigil. The following morning, Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York. Concelebrating with His Eminence were:

At the end of the Sixth Hour, Andrei Antchoutine was tonsured a reader and then ordained a subdeacon. At the Little Entrance, Deacon Serguei Mikhailov was elevated to the rank of Protodeacon in honor of his 25th anniversary of diaconal service.
The services were held under the aegis of the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God. Singing the divine services was a mixed choir of parishioners and guests.
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, parish rector Fr. Alexandre thanked the Metropolitan for his archpastoral visit and prayers.
The protodeacon then intoned the Polychronion for the clergy and all of the parishioners, and after Liturgy all were invited to a festal luncheon.
