On Wednesday, February 12, Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY celebrated its annual patronal feast day of the Three Great Holy Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom.
Archbishop Peter of Chicagsky & Mid-America celebrated Divine Liturgy. He was co-served by Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan and monastery abbot Bishop Luke of Syracuse, as well as guest and monastery clergy.
The seminarians added to the uniqueness of the event by honoring the patron saints of the seminary with Greek reading and chant, which they interspersed with traditional Slavonic melodies.
After Liturgy, the hierarchs, monastics, faculty, staff, seminarians, and visitors reconvened in the Seminary Hall for a reception and to be edified by greetings from the hierarchs, and a talk by Holy Trinity’s faculty member, Dr. Vitaly Permiakov.
