On Tuesday the 13th and Wednesday the 14th of October, the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, Holy Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY celebrated its patronal feast day.

The parish celebrations began on Tuesday evening with the serving of All-Night Vigil. The following morning, Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada, co-served by Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar; abbot of St. Dionysios the Areopagite Monastery in St. James, NY), Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine (parish rector), Abbot Eutychius (Dovgan; parish cleric), Priest Leonid Cotofana (cleric of Holy Annunciation Church in Flushing, NY), Protodeacons Pavel Wolkow & Eugene Kallaur (clerics of St. Seraphim Memorial Church in neighboring Sea Cliff), and Serguei Mikhailov (parish cleric), and Hierodeacon Vasileios (Willard; cleric of St. Dionysios Monastery).

Singing the divine services was a mixed choir of parishioners and guests under the direction of S. Miro.

A multitude of parishioners prayed at Liturgy, observing the established pandemic requirements, with most communing of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Fr. Alexandre thanked the hierarch for his archpastoral visit and prayers.

The protodeacon then intoned the Polychronion for the clergy and all of the parishioners, and after Liturgy all were invited to an outdoor festal luncheon.
