On Saturday, November 14, the clergy and parishioners of Sts. Cosmas & Damian Church in Passaic, NJ celebrated their parish’s patronal feast day. Archpriest Mark Burachek (rector of Our Lady of Kazan Church in Newark, NJ) celebrated the Divine Liturgy, co-served by: Abbot Nicodemus (Balyasnikov; cleric of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City), Abbot Arseny (Manko; parish rector), and Priest Serge Ledkovsky (deputy rector of St. Vladimir Memorial Church in Jackson, NJ).
The services were sung by two choirs: a male choir under the direction of Nikodim Buryakov, and a mixed choir under the direction Reader George Konyev.
The service proceeded triumphally and prayerfully, and many communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
After Liturgy, everyone gathered in the church refectory, where the sisterhood prepared a bountiful festal luncheon, during which the interaction of the clergy, parishioners, and guests continued.
