Blountville, TN: Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal officiates Patronal Feast of St. Tikhon Church

On Tuesday, November 17, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada began his visit to Saint Tikhon Church in Blountville, TN and the Tennessee/Virginia Tri-Cities region). On Wednesday, November 18th, the parish celebrated its patronal feast day of Saint Tikhon, Patriarch and Confessor of Moscow.

His Eminence officiated the divine services ‒ All-Night Vigil on Tuesday night and Divine Liturgy on Wednesday morning ‒ with parish and visiting clergy concelebrating: Archpriest Matthew Williams (parish rector), Archpriest Job Watts (rector of St. Nektarios Church in Lenoir City, TN), Archpriest Mark Tyson (rector of Holy Prophet Elijah Mission in Pigeon Forge, TN), and Protodeacon Jeremiah Davis (cleric of Christ the Savior Church in Wayne, WV).

The parish choir sang the divine services beautifully and prayerfully. Many parishioners prayed at these services, most of whom communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries at Liturgy.

Upon conclusion of the service, Archbishop Gabriel greeted the clergy and faithful on the joyous feast. The conversations continued afterward between clergy and parishioners in the parish hall, while enjoying a festal meal.
