Atlanta, GA: Growth at St. Mary of Egypt Church

During this time of worldwide distress, God has richly blessed St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell (Atlanta), GA with many new parishioners: through baptism of four infants, two children, and 19 adults, and through the addition to the parish of about 45 people who have come because their own parishes were closed or severely restricted in regard to attendance or liturgical practices.

The four infants who were baptized during this time are Susannah, Maxim, George, and Mariam. Back during Great Lent, two men, Daniel and Kristopher, were baptized. On the morning of Friday, December 4, the great feast of the Entry into the Temple of the Theotokos, three adult men and one young boy were baptized: Joshua, Matthew, and Seraphim and his son Noah.

On Wednesday, January 6 the Eve of Nativity, twelve catechumens were baptized: Zosima, Seraphim, Samuel, Larisa, the child James, Edwin, Tikhon, John, Raphael, Adam, Madeleine, and Katherine. On Tuesday, January 12, Samuel, an adult man, was baptized. Then on Saturday, January 16, two more adults were baptized: Alfred and Sophia.

The people of St Mary’s rejoice that during these holy days, God has granted us so great an outpouring of His love. Many years to the newly illumined servants of God!
