On Tuesday the 6th and Wednesday the 7th of April, the great feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern American & New York officiated the festal All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, co-served by Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan.
Serving alongside the hierarchs were: cathedral dean Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Archpriest Edward Chervinsky (cathedral cleric), Priest Jonah Campbell (rector of Christ the Savior Church in Wayne, WV), Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; cathedral clerics), and Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY). The Synodal choir sang with festal splendor under the direction of conductor Vadim S. Gan.
The feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos is especially beloved by the faithful both in Russia and abroad; thus, despite its being a weekday, many came to pray and express their love for the Heavenly Queen and Mother of our Lord and Savior. Virtually all those present at the service communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.
Upon completion of Liturgy, the hierarchs and clergy also honored the Life-Creating Cross of the Lord with a short moleben.
Metropolitan Hilarion congratulated the clergy and faithful with the great feast.
