On August 1, the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the First Six Ecumenical Councils, the clergy and parishioners of Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY celebrated the 25th anniversary of Archpriest Petro Kunitsky’s ordination to the diaconate and priesthood. Fr. Petro was ordained a deacon on July 26, 1996, and a priest on August 2.

Parish rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by Fr. Petro and Archpriest Boris Slootsky, and Protodeacon Paul Drozdowski (clerics of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Howell, NJ).

Upon completion of Liturgy, Fr. Petro and his Matushka Galina were presented a diocesan gramota in honor of their years of prayerful and loving service to the Church. The parish community presented Fr. Petro a set of beautiful red vestments and Matushka Galina with an icon of the Mother of God. Fr. Serge and Fr. Boris presented Fr. Petro with a new jeweled cross.

After the service, all were invited to a festal luncheon in honor of the anniversary celebrants, organized by the parish sisterhood.
