On Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th of August, on the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada officiated the All-Night Vigil and celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City.

His Grace was co-served at the festal services by cathedral dean Archpriest Andrei Sommer, Archpriest Edward Chervinsky and Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff (cathedral clerics), Protodeacon Serge Arlievsky (cleric of Holy Dormition Convent "Novo-Diveevo" in Nanuet, NY), and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; diocesan cleric). Praying in the altar was Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad.

Archbishop Gabriel congratulated the clergy and parishioners with the feast and, in accordance with Orthodox tradition, blessed the grapes, apples, and other fruits of the harvest.

Upon completion of Liturgy, the cathedral sisterhood organized a festal luncheon for the clergy and faithful.
