Boston, MA: Bishop Nicholas leads Transfiguration Services in Holy Epiphany Church

On Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th of August, the great feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan performed an archpastoral visit to Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, MA.

His Grace officiated the All-Night Vigil and celebrated Divine Liturgy for Transfiguration, co-served by parish clergy: rector Archpriest Victor Boldewskul, Archpriest Thomas Reske, Protodeacons Joseph Jarsotchuk, Alexander Jarostchuk, Victor Ganson, and Alexander Kurenkov.

Prior to the start of Liturgy and under the peal of bells, head sister Natalia Efimova greeted His Grace with bread and salt, and offered warm words of greeting. Singing at the divine services was the parish choir, under the direction of Subdeacon Nicholas Ganson.

The parishioners were likewise blessed with the presence of the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God throughout the services.

Following His Grace’s sermon, a procession was held and, as is customary for the feast, the fruit was blessed.

After Liturgy, a meal was held in honor of the feast.
