On Friday, September 3, Our Lady of Pochaev Church in North Port, FL, received a great joy – a visit by the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian-Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. The icon is currently traveling through Florida, and on the way from Tampa to Naples visited the newest parish in the deanery.
Parishioners thanked the Lord Jesus Christ and His Most Pure Mother for the opportunity to see, pray before, and touch this great holy icon of the Russian Diaspora. A moleben and Akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos was served before the icon; the service was officiated by parish rector Archimandrite Stefan (Khilchuk), co-served by parish cleric Hieromonk Arkadii (Polishchuk) and Priest Daniel Sobolev (cleric of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA).
Upon completion of the service, parishioners bade the holy icon farewell with joy and thanksgiving, as it continues its visitation through the Diocese.
