The clergy and parishioners of Holy Virgin Intercession Church in Glen Cove, NY are very happy to report that, by the grace of God, the work to restore the interior of the church in the aftermath of last September’s hurricane and flood is finally complete. New floors, new doors, and new benches along the walls have been installed, and the ceiling has been repainted.
Divine services will resume according to the usual schedule.
Parishioners have expressed their gratitude to everyone who donated to the initial fundraising effort via GoFundMe. The cost to repair the damage to the church incurred will not be covered by insurance or FEMA (about $25,000). Thus, a second appeal is being prepared; details will be provided in the near future. Please visit the parish website or Facebook page for updated information. Please keep the parish in your prayers!
