Virginia Beach, VA: Nativity Concert held at St. Joseph of Optina Church

A festal concert dedicated to Christ’s Nativity took place at St. Joseph of Optina Church in Virginia Beach, VA on Sunday, January 9. The Nativity concert started with a common prayer led by parish rector Priest Serge Kosov, who also addressed the audience with congratulations and good wishes. The sisterhood arranged a fine table for all of the guests.

The festal performance began with the troparion, kontakion, and magnification of the feast of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. Christmas carols in different languages ​​were then performed by the church choir and the folk choir "Tunes of Russia".

Concert participants presented many interesting and joyful moments to the audience. The children of the parish congratulated everyone with Christmas poems. The traditional scene of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ was also held with the participation of children and adults. The conclusion of the concert was the performance of songs and carols sung together with the guests, accompanied by a piano, violin, guitar, and bells.

"Colorful decorations, the bright costumes of all of the artists, an elegant Christmas tree, and a festive table created a pleasant and magical atmosphere," the guests noted.

The concert was held in a warm and family-like atmosphere, giving everyone joy, love, and light. It ended with the giving of Christmas gifts.
