Hollywood, FL: Patronal feast of Three Hierarchs Church

On Saturday, February 12, the feast of the Synaxis of the Three Holy Hierarchs: Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John of Chrysostom was celebrated in the eponymous church in Hollywood, FL.

Archpriest Daniel McKenzie (rector of St. Vladimir Church in Miami, FL) celebrated the festal Divine Liturgy, co-served by Archimandrite Siluan (Lembei; parish cleric), Abbot Arseny (Manko; acting rector of St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church in Pompano Beach, FL), and Priest Mykhailo Mykhailenko (cleric of St. Vladimir Church).

The church was filled with parishioners and guests from neighboring parishes. A procession was held upon completion of Liturgy.

The next day, Sunday, February 13, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan arrived with the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" and celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of the Publican & Pharisee. Upon conclusion of Liturgy, His Grace congratulated all with the temple’s patronal feast.

Singing at the divine services was a newly formed parish choir under the direction of Vladimir Logozinski. On Saturday and Sunday, the sisterhood prepared delicious festal luncheons.

His Grace was impressed by recent decoration of the church: new candlesticks and a reliquary were purchased, a new icon case was carved for the icon of Blessed Matrona of Moscow. There are many new icons in the church now, including ancient ones. To preserve the history of the church, frames for some of the icons were made from old benches.
