Pompano Beach, FL: Bishop Nicholas performs Archpastoral Visit to St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church

On June 6, the Sunday of the Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan performed an archpastoral visit to St. Luke the Blessed Surgeon Church in Pompano Beach, FL. The visit was timed in connection with the parish’s upcoming patronal feast ‒ June 11.

Concelebrating with His Grace at the All-Night Vigil the evening prior, and at Divine Liturgy were: Archpriest Leonid Kalinin (rector of St. Clement Pope of Rome Church in Moscow), Priest Mikhail Mikhailenko (cleric of St. Vladimir Church in Miami, FL), and Deacon Stefan Stoyanov (parish cleric).

Before the start of the Divine Liturgy, Reader Paul Lukianov was ordained a subdeacon.

The parish choir under the direction of Katya Lukianov sang marvelously. Many parishioners prayed in the church and received Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Nicholas, who is also the acting rector of the parish, congratulated the parishioners with the ongoing feast of the Ascension of the Lord, as well as the celebration of the upcoming patronal feast of Holy Hierarch Luke the Surgeon, Archbishop of Simferopol.

A festal luncheon was held in the parish hall by the parish sisterhood, where interaction between the clergy and faithful continued.
