Jordanville, NY: Holy New Martyrs of Russia Parish in Brooklyn visits Holy Trinity Monastery

On Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th of June, the parish of Holy New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn, NY held a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. Archpriests Serge Lukianov (rector) and Petro Kunitsky led the 42 parishioners.

On Saturday, the pilgrims stopped at the famous Howe Caverns for an underground tour. They arrived at the monastery just in time for dinner and the Vigil service for the Sunday of All Saints. Most of the pilgrims went to confession.

On Sunday, His Grace Luke, Bishop of Syracuse celebrated Divine Liturgy, co-served by monastery and visiting clergy.

Bishop Luke welcomed the pilgrims and thanked them for coming and bestowed his blessings on everyone. After a wonderful monastery lunch, all gathered with His Grace for a photo on the steps of the cathedral. Afterward, Fr. Serge gave a detailed tour of the cathedral and lower Church of Venerable Job of Pochaev. The pilgrims then prayed at the grave of Metropolitan Hilarion, where Fr. Serge served a litiya.

After a tour of the Russian Museum and Holy Trinity Seminary, the pilgrims visited the bookstore, bell tower, and monastery grounds. Later they visited St. Elizabeth Skete and stopped by the cemetery for a litia at the grave of Brother Jose Muñoz-Cortes. From there they went to the top of the mountain, where a large cross was erected in 1971, hosting a beautiful view.

The pilgrims returned to Brooklyn at 11:00 PM on Sunday full of spiritual zeal and happiness in the Lord.
