New York City: On Sunday of All Russian Saints, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal celebrates Liturgy in Synodal Cathedral

On June 26, the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, that of All Saints who shone forth in the Russian Land, Archbishop Gabriel of Montreal & Canada celebrate Divine Liturgy in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Priest Živojin Jakovljević (cleric of the Serbian Church in the USA), Protodeacon Nicolas Mokhoff (cathedral cleric), and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; diocesan cleric).

Singing at the service was the Synodal choir under the direction of Elizabeth Ledkovsky.

Cathedral parishioners who came to pray communed of Christ’s Holy Mysteries.

Upon completion of Liturgy, Archbishop Gabriel greeted those gathered with the feast and addressed them with a sermon, in which he noted the significance of the saints of the Russian land. His Eminence called on them to pray to the Russian saints, that they might help us return to the ideals of piety and the Orthodox Faith.

Friday, June 24, had marked the 40th day of the repose of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America & New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad. That evening, Archbishop Gabriel served a panihida for Metropolitan Hilarion in the cathedral, and on Sunday, when all those who wished to come to pray in church and commemorate him were able, His Eminence served a litia.

The sisterhood prepared a commemorate repast for all in the cathedral hall.
