A real children’s magazine in Russian is now being published in America. Literary and educational, useful and funny, the magazine "Lesenka" ("The Little Ladder") introduces children to the poetry and prose of modern children’s writers, talks about the history and meaning of Orthodox feast days, reveals the secrets of nature, and offers to puzzle over riddles, charades, and mazes, many of which were invented and created by young subscribers themselves.
Published with the blessing of Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan, the magazine seeks to help young children from 4 to 10 years old become acquainted with and love Russian language and culture, and provide hours of good family fun and a quality pastime.
"Lesenka" is published quarterly. You can see sample pages here ‒ www.lesenka.info/gallery. Read, subscribe, and share your opinions at lesenka.kids@gmail.com.
