On Sunday, September 11, the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist, Bishop John of Caracas & South America celebrated Divine Liturgy in Holy Intercession & St. Sergius Church in Glen Cove, NY. Concelebrating with His Grace were parish rector Archpriest Alexandre Antchoutine and Hierodeacon Panteleimon (Jigalin; diocesan cleric).

Upon completion of the service, Bishop John greeted all with the feast, and delivered a sermon on the day’s Gospel reading.

In the church hall, the sisterhood prepared a lenten luncheon for the clergy and parishioners.

The next day, September 12, Bishop John once again celebrated Liturgy in Holy Intercession Church, and upon its completion, congratulated parish rector Fr. Alexandre on the occasion of his namesday – the feast of Venerable Alexander of Svir.
