Unfortunately, Amazon is discontinuing its AmazonSmile program to benefit charities of your choice, including the Eastern American Diocese. The company is choosing instead to focus on a smaller number of select charities.
Currently, AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.
The Eastern American Diocese can be selected as the charitable organization of your choice, and all proceeds from AmazonSmile are put in the diocesan Benevolent Fund.
We previously invited our readers to take part in AmazonSmile here. 100% of all funds received over the past years have gone to the diocesan Benevolent Fund, which supports our clergy, seminarians, and youth conferences, among others.
The program will cease operations on February 20, 2023. If you have any Amazon purchases you intend to make before that date, please consider supporting the Eastern American Diocese!
