On Friday, March 10, Holy Trinity Seminary launched a new seminarian-run podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Spreaker, and YouTube. Entitled Light of the World, this podcast aims to tackle topics ranging from theology and philosophy to liturgics, Church and ROCOR history, and daily life at the seminary.
Most of the episodes are set to be conducted in interview format, with the hosts Readers John Keller & Andrey Slivin interviewing various prominent members of the Orthodox world. The seminarians are currently planning on releasing a show once every two weeks.
Light of the World premiered its first episode featuring Deacon Nicholas Kotar (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery) with an enthralling discussion on how we see Heaven brought down to Earth during the divine services. Venerable Maximus the Confessor’s text "On the Ecclesiastical Mystagogy" was used for reference.
In the future, the seminarians hope to expand their list of interviewees beyond the world of ROCOR, gaining insight from members of all Orthodox jurisdictions in their respective fields.
