On March 17, Cheesefare Sunday (also called Forgiveness Sunday, the Commemoration of Adam’s expulsion from Paradise), Bishop Jerome (Shaw) celebrated Divine Liturgy in Nativity of the Mother of God Church at the New Kursk Root Hermitage in Mahopac, NY. Concelebrating with His Grace were: Archpriest George Temidis (parish rector) and Deacons Konstantin Aleshin and Theodotus Conrad (parish clerics).
Upon conclusion of Liturgy, Bishop Jerome delivered a sermon in Russian and English on how some spread the word of the True Faith, despite themselves.
His Grace then officiated Vespers with the Rite of Forgiveness.
After the service, a festal bliny luncheon was held for all in the parish hall.
