Blountville, TN: St. Tikhon Church to Construct New Church Building

Saint Tikhon Church was established as a mission in Bristol, VA in 1999. Services were first held in private homes. In 2007, a humble building (built in 1905) was purchased. In 2020, the parish moved a few miles south, to its current location in Blountville, TN. The church grounds include a sufficiently large cemetery (which is available to all Orthodox Christians in the region), a former Protestant church (now converted for Orthodox use), and a rectory.

Since 2020, over 50 new Christians have been baptized at St. Tikhon’s and dozens of families, having relocated to the area, have made it their spiritual home. Today, over 200 Orthodox Christians are in regular attendance. The converted space ‒ beyond adequate four years ago ‒ has quickly become insufficient.

With God’s help, the parish is now in early planning to undertake the construction of a new church building, adjacent to the current church in Blountville.

Your help in this God-pleasing endeavor would be sincerely appreciated! Contributions to the new building fund can be made here.
